 Tom McGhee is the Director of Spark of Genius, founded in 1999 and has spread to 19 sites across Scotland and employs 240 people. The company provides education, residential care, social and employment services, and software solutions to enable young people who need a variety of supports to achieve their potential.
Tom has had extensive experience as a teacher, lecturer, and software developer for European blue chips and in the British education and training sectors. This started with an interest in the application of advanced IT tools to education as a secondary school teacher. This was developed over a number of years with Yard, Unisys, and Philips in Germany and Holland working upon Artificial Intelligence consultancy projects, building computer-assisted learning systems for education and training at the time of the advent of the world wide web.
